I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really proceeding.
